Stacey Millman, President

With decades of experience in advocacy, communications, project management, and overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets, Stacey Millman brings her passion, leadership skills, and talents to the family of EverGreen Meadow organizations after raising a daughter profoundly affected by trauma. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Albany and her Master of Arts at SUNY Empire State College. To learn more about her family’s journey, read her blog.

Adrienne Jensen, Executive Director

Adrienne Jensen is the Executive Director of Evergreen Meadow Services, supporting the preparation of the opening of our new school and residence as well as leading staff and programming.

Adrienne has more than twenty years of operational, programmatic, volunteer, and family experience.  She has worked with and developed programs for youth-at-risk, both rural and migrant families, women's empowerment, elders, and issues around the ever-growing housing crisis. She is embedded in Sullivan County's community-based infrastructure and is respected throughout New York State as a human rights professional. As a former professional dancer and Taiko drummer, she finds ways to incorporate dance and expressive movement in support of our program participants' emotional well-being. 

As the former Executive Director of Human Rights for Sullivan County, she emphasizes how important it is for professionals in the helping fields to acknowledge the backgrounds of their clients in the care they provide and find ways to deliver services that are congruent with what clients value most in their world. 

Ms. Jensen currently sits on a local town planning board, the board for a local historic museum, and the Board of Farm Arts Collective as well as runs a monthly conversation to provide a discussion to unite communities holding varying ideas and beliefs. She has previously served on the Community Advisory Board for Sullivan 180, the Advisory Board of EDMT, and as the Vice Chairperson of the Advisory Council for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

Trish Meade, Administrative Operations

Trish Meade is a nonprofit social impact professional with over 15 years of experience leading multi-faceted projects involving cross-functional teams. Working at various organizations, Ms. Meade has built systems and processes to manage large and small events/projects and worked with partners, sponsors, members and donors to deliver successful programs. In her role as the Administrative Operations Consultant, Ms. Meade oversees much of the EverGreen Meadow Organizations' administrative infrastructure. She is passionate about working with mission-driven organizations like Evergreen Meadow Academy that build inclusive and equitable organizations and communities.

Harrald Magny, Ph.D., Clinical Supervisor

Dr. Magny is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than ten years of experience in providing psychotherapy. He has a private practice in Manhattan treating individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, work-related problems, personality disorders, change of life issues, difficulties in coping with discrimination, and a wide range of diagnoses. Dr. Magny also currently works as a consultant evaluating veterans seeking services from the Veteran’s Administration Health System. Overall, Dr. Magny has extensive experience working with various patient populations in various settings ranging from psychiatric inpatient units to outpatient clinics and other medical settings.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Magny has extensive supervisory experience overseeing psychologists at all levels of training ranging from psychology interns to pre-licensed psychologists. Dr. Magny’s supervisory experience also extends to teaching various graduate psychology courses focusing on various aspects of psychotherapy.

Overall, Dr. Magny approaches psychotherapy, supervision, and teaching from an integrative perspective, as he is well-versed in various theoretical orientations, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and rational emotive behavior therapy. As an integrative psychologist, Dr. Magny values the individual and every individual’s unique needs for growth and change.

Emily Rentz, Ph.D., Clinical Supervisor

Emily Rentz, Ph.D. is a New York State Licensed and Certified School Psychologist with a background in private special education, working with students with various disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, autism, and ADHD. She is currently working at College Board in the department for Services for Students with Disabilities and is also an Adjunct Professor in the Applied Psychology Department at New York University. In addition to her Doctorate in School Psychology, Dr. Rentz also holds a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from Fordham University. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology at New York University.

Auretnisse (Aure) Santos, MSW, Clinical Social Worker

Auretnisse (Aure) Santos is passionate about working with children and families and has a decade of working experience in social services and the mental health field. Auretnisse has a trauma informed care lens, with a focus in foster care, adoptions, and medical trauma. She specializes in providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and families with a variety of concerns including Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Disruptive Behavior Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Executive Functioning. Auretnisse provides bilingual services in English and Spanish.  Auretnisse practices an integrative approach to therapy incorporating principles from many styles of therapy including, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Crisis counseling, De-escalation techniques including mindfulness and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in her treatment. She works closely with families to bridge the gap between children and their caregivers, letting the child/youth’s individuality shine through. 

Auretnisse is the proud daughter of Dominican Immigrants, first generation Dominican-American born in Washington Heights and raised in the Bronx, New York.  She received her BA in Psychology from Baruch College and Masters in Social Work from Long Island University.


Hannah Turk, MSW, Clinical Social Worker

Hanah Turk has been in the field working with children and families processing trauma since 2017. Certified in Trauma Focused CBT and DBT, she began her career in community mental health at a clinic in Connecticut and is currently at a therapeutic school in New York. Hannah is also a certified yoga teacher and a published contributing author to a textbook for mental health diagnoses and social work practice. She specializes in teens but has worked with children as young as 3 and as old as 21.

Carmen Martinez, MSW, Clinical Social Worker

Carmen Martinez, a social worker with forty years of experience, works closely with girls and their parents with our middle school partners. 

 Her dedication to working with children, families, and communities stems from her upbringing in the Bronx and her connection to the Castle Hill Community Center. Starting as a volunteer in high school, Carmen continued her involvement with the Center, contributing to summer programs, sleep-away camps, and health fairs, and eventually becoming the program director of an evening high school program. These experiences fueled her commitment to serving children and families, inspired by the daily struggles and challenges she witnessed. 

 For most of her career, Carmen worked with the New York City Department of Education, as part of a special education assessment team, collaborating with various professionals to advocate for children's needs and services. Her expertise extends to early intervention services, where she dedicated seven years to working with children aged birth to three, providing support and applied behavior analysis for those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. In her last seventeen years with the NYC DOE, Carmen focused on middle school, offering direct services to students through individual and group counseling. Utilizing psycho-social techniques, she helped students navigate challenges such as grief, anxiety, trauma, stress, depression, suicidal ideations, immigration, homelessness, and food insecurities. Creating a warm and safe environment, Carmen actively involved parents in service plans, advocating for them as well as connecting them with community-based services.

Mitra Behroozi, Esq.

Mitra has worked as a champion for working people and their families for over 35 years. She is currently the Senior Advisor to the 1199SEIU Benefit and Pension Funds, which she led as the Executive Director for the past seventeen and a half years, managing more than $3 billion per year in healthcare and pension benefit spending for more than 400,000 healthcare workers, retirees, and their families. Mitra was embraced by both management and union leadership for her strategic wisdom and ability to find innovative solutions to stretch healthcare dollars and ensure that members had no cost barriers to comprehensive care. Mental health and wellness, particularly for the children of the members, was a key priority. A graduate of Brown University and NYU School of Law, Mitra spent the first half of her career as a partner at NYC union-side labor and employment law firm Levy Ratner and Behroozi. She now resides full-time in beautiful Sullivan County, stewarding the land and supporting local farms and community programs. Lee Perlman

President

GNYHA Management Corporation & GNYH Foundation

 Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative and Financial Officer Greater New York Hospital Association

Lee H. Perlman is a lifelong New Yorker who has dedicated his career to serving others. From 1983 to 2020, Mr. Perlman was the driving force behind and longtime President of GNYHA Ventures, Inc., the for-profit business arm of the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA).

As GNYHA Ventures President, Mr. Perlman oversaw a portfolio that included subsidiaries engaging in group purchasing, management outsourcing, and health care consulting. Mr. Perlman was responsible for the development of the companies created under GNYHA Ventures, many of which were ultimately purchased by a former business partner of GNYHA Ventures and now a large public organization.

GNYHA Ventures sold its last two businesses in March 2020 when it concluded the sale of its last two companies to the national health care improvement company Premier, Inc. In total, GNYHA Ventures developed and sold four GNYHA Ventures companies under Mr. Perlman’s leadership.

Mr. Perlman continues his 40 years of service at GNYHA as President of GNYHA Management Corporation and GNYH Foundation, and Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative and Financial Officer of Greater New York Hospital Association.

A leader in promoting diversity in health care leadership, Mr. Perlman founded the GNYHA Summer Enrichment Program, which has placed more than 350 diverse students in summer internships. In his targeted efforts to promote educational equity, leadership, and economic empowerment for low-income girls attending under-resourced public high schools, Mr. Perlman also founded Road to 120, a college access and leadership program in partnership with the YWCA. Now in its sixth year, 100% of the participants attend competitive four-year colleges following high school graduation, and 100% of the alumni are on track to graduate from college on time. Mr. Perlman was also recently appointed Chairman of Friends of EverGreen Meadow Academy, Inc., a new state-of-the-art residential treatment center and school being built for middle-school girls recovering from trauma.   

 A dedicated volunteer and philanthropist, Mr. Perlman devotes significant energy to non-profits related to health care, education, and the arts. In 2023, he received City and State’s Responsible 100 award, a selection of New Yorkers honored for their social responsibility and community involvement. He serves on the Boards of the Ronald McDonald House of New York, Musicians on Call, and New York City Tourism and Conventions (formerly NYC & Company), focusing on New York City Tourism. In 2022, he was appointed by Governor Hochul to be Chairman of the New York Convention Center Operating Corporation (Javits Center). He also serves as Chairman of the International Sports and Music Project, bringing sports and music opportunities to kids facing hardship across the globe, and previously served as Chairman of LiveOnNY, the New York metropolitan region’s organ procurement organization.


Jennifer Cunningham, Esq.

Jennifer Cunningham was a founding partner at SKDK, a leading national strategic communications firm that works with Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, philanthropic organizations, labor unions, and political until she retired from the firm in March 2020. Jennifer has more than 25 years of experience developing and executing strategic communications strategies and television and digital advertising for clients across the healthcare, education, and public service sectors. Prior to joining SKDK, she was Political and Legislative Director for 1199 Service Employees International Union, the largest healthcare union in the Country, from 1998 to 2008. Ms. Cunningham also served in various capacities as an advisor to the New York State legislature and practiced law with Paul Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Jennifer is passionate about the environment and sustainability and is an advisor to the Open Space Institute and Mohonk Preserve in New York.


Alberto Espinosa, M.S.Ed.

Alberto Espinosa has spent the past two decades working as a School Psychologist for the Greenburgh-North Castle Union Free School District at the Dr. Kenneth B. Clark Academy and at St. Christopher’s Residential Treatment Center in Dobbs Ferry, New York, providing mental health services to emotionally dysregulated, learning disabled and autistic middle and high school students. At Clark Academy, he is the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Coordinator and educates staff and students on utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills to help with past trauma, cognitive dysfunction and in seeking lifelong coping skills. In this role, he helps students apply knowledge and skills to develop healthy identities, manage emotions, achieve personal goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships and make responsible decisions. He is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is a teacher and proponent of Mindfulness in schools. He leads a morning meditation program with staff and students called the Mindful Minute, where he teaches the benefits of mindfulness and meditation on their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Alberto was born in Harlem and raised in the Bronx, NY. He attended Fordham University at Rose Hill and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Political Science and Psychology. He earned his master’s degree in School Psychology at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education at Lincoln Center and a master’s degree in School Building Leadership at Mercy College. His time at Fordham University inspired him to follow the Jesuit tradition of contributing to his community, helping those in need, and educating the whole person—mind, body, and soul—to prepare his students to create a more just, humane, and sustainable world.


Sandra Harris, LMSW

Sandra Harris is an experienced community affairs professional, skilled in building collaborative community and academic partnerships, managing government and community relations, advocating for accessible and culturally competent social services. She is also a licensed MSW specializing in cultural counseling, family mediation, coaching, and conflict resolution. Sandra has more than twenty years of experience at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she currently serves as an Associate Vice President. Prior to that, she successfully led Alianza Dominicana’s programs at a time when resources were scarce and advocacy was paramount. Sandra earned graduate degrees from Columbia University (M.S) and Hunter College (MSW) and her undergraduate degree in Human Services at Metropolitan College of New York. Marc Mazur, Esq.

Marc Mazur, a Senior Advisor at Brightwood Capital Advisors, has had decades of executive and leadership experience in financial services and the healthcare industry with both private equity and venture capital and serves on numerous public and private company boards. A self-described “social capitalist”, Marc focuses his philanthropic and not-for-profit efforts on mental health, education, and recovery - particularly in communities with limited access. He serves on several not-for-profit boards, including College Track, NADAP, and the JED Foundation. He is an active alumnus of Columbia University and earned his law degree from Villanova University. Willam Moss III, M.Ed.

William King Moss III (AKA Billy Moss) is an educator, activist, and civil rights leader who is deeply committed to the mental health and wellbeing of youth and adolescents. He was won numerous awards and accolades for his civic leadership and community work and has led the charge for equity and inclusion in education as an administrator and the president of his local chapter of the NAACP. Billy taught mathematics in his hometown of Brentwood for 11 years and now serves as the Director of Academic Affairs in Lawrence UFSD. He earned his B.A. with honors from Harvard College in Children’s Studies and Mathematics Education and his M.Ed. from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education where he majored in Moral and Social Development and Character Education. Billy completed his doctoral coursework in Educational Leadership, earning both School District Administrator and Bilingual Education certifications. Carol Prevost, MSW

Carol Prevost served as the founding Executive Director of Mountain Lake Academy, a New York State approved residential program for teenaged boys in Lake Placid, NY, from 1999 until her recent retirement. Prior to this, she worked with individuals with developmental disabilities within the NYSARC programs. Her passion is working with vulnerable populations to navigate complex processes, remove barriers to care, and ensure access to services. As a person who enjoys the vast natural resources of the Adirondacks, she is especially proud of the experiential treatment program the Mountain Lake Academy team created. She believes that nature helps heal trauma and build resilience. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY College at Brockport and a Master of Social Work degree from SUNY University at Albany. She and her husband live full-time in the NY Adirondacks.


Linda Riefberg, Esq.

After working in the legal profession for many years, Linda changed course. She applied her skills to non-profit organizations, most notably The Innocence Project, where she served as In-House Counsel. She began her career as a litigator at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, then joined the NYS Stock Exchange Enforcement Division, where she eventually managed 30 attorneys and paralegals. During that time, she worked pro-bono for non-profits and served on several Boards of Directors. She currently serves as a compliance consultant for broker-dealers. Vilma Linares Vaughn

Vilma brings over 30 years of experience in operations and financial management and has served on numerous non-profit boards. She most recently served as the Deputy Executive Director at the 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds. Before joining the Funds, Vilma served as the Chief of Staff of its affiliated union, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East. She started her work in organized labor at the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) in Washington, DC, working there from 2005 to 2012, ultimately holding the position of National Director of the Office of Audits and Affiliate Support. Prior to her work in labor, she held senior-level administrative and operations positions in higher education and the private sector.  She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MA in Accounting from Southwest Texas University. She currently serves on the North Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights board of directors and is the founding Treasurer and a board member of Mi Familia Vota. Charizma Williams

Charizma Williams is the Chief Operating Officer at the American Civil Liberties Union and oversees the Finance, Human Resource, Information Technology and Operations functions for the national organization. Having started her career in financial services, Charizma has spent the last 20 years working in education and non-profit management. Prior to joining the ACLU she was the Chief Financial Officer at KIPP NYC, a charter school management organization within New York City, where she worked for 11 years helping them grow from 5 to 13 schools. Charizma also serves on the board of The Knowledge House, Inc., a Bronx-based non-profit that provides training and job placement for aspiring technologist from low-income communities. Originally from the Philadelphia area, Charizma holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Tama Lane, Founding Clinical & Program Director

Dr. Tama Lane is an internationally recognized expert in the treatment of survivors of trauma, particularly those impacted by cycles of community violence. Dr. Lane has spent the past decade employing traditional evidence-based therapies while developing a deeper approach to treating trauma through mental wellness, body-based practices, social-emotional skills coaching, creative storytelling, and expressive arts therapy. She is the creator of www.HeyTrauma.com and established the New York Psychotherapy and Neuropsychology Group to work with diverse populations affected by a variety of complex life stressors. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology and has worked in Chicago, New York City, France, and the Middle East. Ilene Margolin

Ilene Margolin has over five decades in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors of the health care and human services fields. Currently, Ilene consults with the Sachs Policy Group (SPG) and Coordinated Care (CBC). Previously she served as Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications at EmblemHealth. Ilene served as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Development for a nationally managed behavioral healthcare company and was Chief Operating Officer for a not-for-profit human services corporation, which provided a full range of mental health, developmental disabilities, educational, welfare-to-work, and skills training services. Ilene served in the administrations of Governor Carey and Governor Cuomo. In the Cuomo Administration, she was Deputy Secretary to the Governor for Human Services, overseeing the development and implementation of the Governor’s human service agenda. Ilene began her career as a psychiatric social worker and held a variety of clinical, management, and program development positions in the New York State mental health system with special emphasis on developing new programs for children. Ilene is a member of the Board of Directors of the United Neighborhood Houses and previously served on the Boards of Cerebral Palsy, NAMI, as well as the Chair of the Board of the New York State Health Plan Association.


Bruce McIver

Bruce McIver served as the President of the League of Voluntary Hospitals and Homes of New York from 1991 to 2018, which served as the bargaining agent for over one hundred voluntary hospitals and nursing homes in New York City. Prior to joining the League, Bruce was a private consultant providing services to clients in all aspects of labor relations. His practice included negotiations and a broad range of human resource issues concerning employees who are represented by unions.

Mr. McIver was formerly President and General Manager of the Long Island Railroad, the nation’s largest commuter railroad. He also served as Director of Labor Relations for the New York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority, representing the Authority in its negotiations with 50,000 rail and transit employees. While in that capacity, he served simultaneously as Acting Vice President of Labor Relations New York City Transit Authority, completing a major reorganization of their represented supervisory workforce. Prior to these positions, Mr. McIver was New York City’s Chief Labor Negotiator in negotiations with over 100 unions representing 300,000 employees in areas that included police, firefighters, teachers, sanitation workers, and healthcare workers of all disciplines.

Andrea Schaffner

Andrea has been with the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) since 2006. Starting out in one of its previous businesses, she managed the Membership Department at Innovatix, a Group Purchasing Organization. She now serves as Assistant Vice President at GNYHA and Special Assistant to Lee Perlman, GNYHA’s Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative and Financial Officer.
